Mr Ioannis Vlachakis

Mr Vlachakis is a Vascular Surgeon Specialist, European Board Certified and on the UK Specialist register. He had 7 years of training in Greece followed by a 6 months Endovascular Fellowship in Belgium and was awarded with a scholarship by the International Society of Vascular Surgery (ISVS). He has had 5 years postgraduate training in UK in High Volume University Hospitals (UCLH and Kings College and Cambridge University Hospitals).

He started his career as a Specialist whilst as a Locum Consultant Vascular Surgeon in Derriford University Hospital in Plymouth and at Addenbrookes Hospital part of The Cambridge University Hospitals.

In his practise he performs a great variety of modern vascular surgery procedures such as EVAR, TEVAR, open AAA and Aorto Iliac Procedures, Femoral Endarterectomy, Carotid Endarterectomy and Distal Bypass Surgery for the treatment of PAD and complex diabetic vascular disease. He is also trained in Hybrid Aorto Iliac and Peripheral Procedures having had experience with the use of a hybrid theatre setting from his time as an endovascular fellow at UCLH. His specialist interest is the treatment of complications from varicose veins eg. venous ulcers and venous eczema as well as Cosmetic Varicose Veins Microsurgery with Modern Endovenous Ablation Techniques and Foam Sclerotherapy and Microsclerotherapy.
